MY APPROACH TO THERAPY:

I work best with people who are looking to develop ways of breaking negative patterns & find ways to cope in the present day. It’s really easy to get stuck within a loop, or have things change around you and what was working isn’t working anymore. I like to work with individuals around breaking that cycle, and finding effective actions to adapt to the present day.

I am warm, playful and pretty relaxed. I really love my job and would like to say I bring a good energy into each session I do.

My Areas of focus

I have two main specialties:

-I specialize in working with high school & college age students. I have worked extensively with students in the area around concerns such as stress/anxiety management, breaking the depressive burnout cycle, distress tolerance, and trying to find ways to keep swimming in these chaotic eras.

-My other specialty area is working with young working professionals. I have a big focus here on managing burnout, connecting our values to how we spend our time, forging healthy boundaries, and finding a good balance with the transitions going on.

My Background

I first started off doing therapy in high schools with students for years doing providing both individual & family therapy before transitioning to my own private practice here in Seattle. I was also an adjunct professor at SPU for three years before leaving where I taught courses to new therapists on treatment of anxiety/depression, treatment of adolescents, and practicum.

My first specialization was in solution focused therapy. Since then, I have had training in ACT, PTSD Treatments, working with gender diverse youth & individuals, CBT & DBT. I also just finished up the supervisor training course and am looking to complete my EMDR training this year.

More than anything, I am not a ride or die to one theory or approach. I like pulling from different modalities, and would consider myself psychodynamic. My two favorites though are ACT (acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I am really big on distress tolerance and management of symptoms.

FREE Consult

The most important element of therapy is that you feel a connection with the person you are talking to. For this reason, I offer a brief 15 minute phone consultation so that you can get a sense of who I am, I can learn a bit about you, and we can determine if we are a good fit. If not, I will do my best to support you by providing referrals to other clinicians who might be.

Insurance

As of right now I am in network and only take Premera, and Lifewise Insurance plans. For other insurance I can provide a billing statement so that you can seek reimbursement on your own.
